The film is based upon material gathered during the period from January to June 2007. Action is based exclusively upon preserved railways.

Highlights include the return of the Great Marquess at the Churnet Valley Railway in January. During the same month there are scenes from the highly successful Great Central Heavy Freight Gala and the dramatic runs of Stanier Mogul 42968 the following weekend. A notable performance by 4953 at the Keighley and Worth Valley followed in February together by the branch line Gala at the Bluebell. March saw some notable action from the East Lancs, the usual "mega" West Somerset Railway Spring Gala, featuring a visit by newly restored 34007 Wadebridge and 7802 Bradley Manor. The Severn Valley Branch Gala in the same month featured a visit by Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway no.88 and 4141 from the GCR. The  East Coast Mainline Festival at the North Yorkshire Moors and the excellent Cotswold Festival at the Gloucester and Warwicks, featuring Green Arrow and Wadebridge, make up the remainder of the DVD.
